The Bounty Box is a once-off baby box that you can buy through the Mag Shop website.

It costs $7.50 and comes with a bunch of baby samples. Depending on when you order your box will depend on what samples they send.

I ordered my box in November 2017.  It took about a week and a half to arrive.

First look

The goodies

The Australian Women’s Weekly Baby Purees Book
Valued at $5.50 from Magshop

I thought this book looked great and I’m really happy with it. Lots of different purees to try when our little squishy hits 6 months old. I’ll have to put this one away into her 6 months drawer/box (I’m still deciding how to store things for later down the track).

Gaia Bamboo Baby Wipes (20 Pack)
Valued at $3.50 from Nursing Angel Australia

I do plan on trying to use cloth wipes but this will be handy all the same It’s one of the wipes recommended on the Hello Charlie website, so that gives me comfort in it’s eco credentials.

QV Baby Barrier Cream 10 grams
Valued at $1.21, you can buy a 50 gram cream for $6.08 at Amcal

As I’m new to this whole baby thing, I’m still a bit confused about nappy creams. Especially as some work ok with cloth nappies and some don’t. so I’ll need to research that a bit more…

Palmer’s Baby Wash 50 mls
Valued at $1.99. I had a look online and it doesn’t seem like you can buy this product anymore. However it was $9.99 for a 250 ml bottle.

I love Palmer’s Coco Butter and have been using it everyday during my pregnancy. So I do like that I can try this with my bub, even though it looks like they don’t sell it anymore!

Mater Newborn Nappy in Size 1 (2 pack)
Valued at 0.99 cents, you can buy a 28 pack for $13.99 on the Maters Mothers website

While I plan on using cloth nappies, I’m happy to have a few disposables to try during those first few weeks when I’m trying to figure out which cloth nappies work best for our baby girl as a back up. We also have a huggies sample that we got given from the hospital and I’m planning on buying an eco disposables newborn trial pack from Hello Charlie.

Chicco Breast Pads sample (one pair)
Valued at 0.66 cents, you can buy a pack of 30 from $9.95 at Chicco Baby Australia

As a first time mum I am happy to have some breast pads to try to figure out what is going to work best for me.

And something for mum… Model Co Party Proof Lipstick and Lip liner in flirt
This was valued at $20. It is sold out on the Model Co website but you can buy this shade for $6.60 at Cosmetics Fragrance Direct.

Unfortunately this shade looks terrible on me! Icy pink colours don’t go well with my skin tones 🙁 It did go on smoothly though. I used to have this lipstick in another shade… I think it was called Disco Fever and I loved it!!

How much does it cost?

As of 26 November 2017The Bounty Box costs $7.50 which is to cover the postage of your goodies.

Was it worth it?

I only paid $5 for this box and I thought for a first time mum it was good to get a box of little samples for so cheap (EDIT –  I did notice that it has now gone up to $7.50). Although I have to say that I’m a little disappointed that two of the items are old stock – the lipstick and the baby wash. So even if I loved them I couldn’t easily continue to use these products, so what is the point in sampling them?

I came up with a value of $20.45 for this box. For me the wipes and the baby puree book made it worth the $5.

Who should but this? First time mums who look mystery boxes.
