Lust have it Beauty Box – April 2014 review

Lust have it Beauty Box – April 2014 review

The team at ‘Lust have it’ have kindly sent me their April Beauty Box to review.

‘Lust have it’ have four different boxes – a Beauty Box, the FAB Box (which is fashion and beauty), the Eco Box and the Bridal Box.

This is an Australian company and it looks like they currently only ship within Australia.

The parcel came in an Australian Post express bag.

The box

The ‘Lust have it’ Beauty Box comes in a plastic zippered make-up bag with a information card.

The products

Jane Gem Face Primer by Glamourflage
Sample size 8.5ml (this is a full size item)
Sample value $22.95

Lust have it says – “Banish shine and create the perfect base for your make-up. It primes and soothes the complexion to help make-up last even longer and aiding a flawless finish. Apply over moisturiser and before foundation.”

This primer was interesting to apply. It is liquid and comes with a little brush applicator like a nail polish would. The primer does make my skin feel nice and seemed to do the job.

100% Pure Mineral Bronzer by Claytime
Sample size 3 grams
Sample value $12.83

Lust have it says – “Instant safe tan and colour awaits you with the Claytime Australia decadent bronzer. Apply to cheeks, face, arms or legs, it provides an instant touch of tan to skin. Eliminate premature skin ageing and the dangers of hours of sun-damage with a safe, pure and mineral Claytime Australia body bronzer.”

I’m not a big fan of bronzer. It just doesn’t seem to suit me but I gave this one a whirl. I used it on my cheek bones. It needed a lot of blending as at first it looked like I had smeared dirt on my face, which is not very attractive! Next time I might try it as a bronze eyeshadow to get more use out of it.

Bioderma Atoderm Cream
Sample size 15ml
Sample value $2.25

Lust have it says – “An ultra rich moisturising and restructuring Cream, Atoderm Cream is the perfect daily moisturiser for dry to very dry skin. It moisturisers, soothes the skin and helps restructure the skin barrier. The creamy texture spreads easily and penetrates quickly.”

This cream is quite thick like sunscreen. I feel that it would be good for winter or those who get really dry skin. I don’t usually get super dry skin so this one is a little bit too thick for my liking.

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
Sample size 29ml
Sample value $1.30

Lust have it says – “Containing Active Naturals Colloidal Oatmeal blended with rich emollients to moisturise your skin for 24 hours. Formulated to help prevent dry skin, it leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and naturally healthy-looking.”

I like this formula better than the Bioderm Atoderm Cream because it was lighter and absorbed into my skin quicker.

wotnot Facial wipes for oily/sensitive skin
Sample size 5 wipes
Sample value $1.95

Lust have it says – “Enriched with Australian certified organic extracts of pink grapefruit, papaya, rosehip and petitgrain to throughly cleanse all grime and make-up even waterproof mascara while gently nourishing the skin. Ideal for teens or anyone with oily/sensitive skin, are specially formulated to gently cleanse without drying alcohols which can stress skin and lead to an over production of seburn, and exclue petroleum oils included in other brands that can lead to clogged pores.”

These have a nice green smell to them, kinda like freshly mowed grass combined with green tea. I am not 100% sold that it totally removes all my mascara. But it is gentle on my skin and doesn’t seem to have anything nasty in it.

How much does it cost?

The Lust have it Beauty Box costs $19.95 a month. Shipping to Australia is included in the price.

Was it worth it?

The total value of this box came to $41.28, the value of the products was over double the price of the box. My favourite items were the Jane Gem Face Primer, Aveeno Moisturiser and the wotnot Facial Wipes. So three products out of 5 for a price of $19.95 is quite good (especially as the primer cost more than that on its own!). At first I did think it was a little odd to receive two moisturisers in the same box. But after trying them both and seeing that one worked better on my oily skin and the other would be better for drier skins, I thought it was quite a good idea.

Box news

While looking at the Her Fashion Box website I stumbled across the fact that they are now offering a mini version of the box! You can choose the regular Her Fashion Box for $39.95 or you can get the Her Fashion Boxette for $24.95. The difference is that the Boxette has one less fashion item, two less less beauty items and it doesn’t seem to come with the Her Fashion magazine. I’m tempted but I think I would have box envy of what I missed out on in the full box! Excited to see the first Boxette though.
