Wantable review – August 2013

Wantable review – August 2013

My second Wantable Accessories Box arrived much quicker than my first one. Hooray!
There are three different Wantable boxes that you can subscribe to – Accessories, Make-up or Intimates. I’m currently subscribing to the Accessories Box.

Wantable use a style quiz to determine what items to send you each month. The profile is pretty detailed my profile is set to the following:

Love – classic, glam, mix ‘n’ match, earrings
Like – bracelets, necklaces, rings, headbands, scarves, silver tone, gold tone, multi tone, wood, acrylic, beads, leatherette, inspirational text
Dislike – rock ‘n’ roll, boho, urban, watches, sunglasses, skulls

The month my box only had three items in it 🙁

On the plus side I really loved two of the items.

What was in the box?

The products

Katalina Bracelet
Sample value – Wantable valued the bracelet at $24

Wantable said -‘Shining silver-tone and leatherette meet in the Karalina Bracelet. Style tip: This stretch bracelet is easy to slip on to quickly add some seriously statement to your outfit.’

This is a great statement bracelet and my favourite item in the box. It goes with lots of things and adds that touch of pizzazz to an outfit. I’ve been wearing it to work and I feel oh-so-chic 🙂

CeCe Ring
Sample value – Wantable valued the ring at $26

Wantable said – ‘This wrapped stone ring is full of whimsy. This unique piece is sure to look great with any outfit!’

This ring is growing on me. I didn’t really like it at first but I might try wear it on the weekend with a maxi skirt.

I also got a ring last month, which I wasn’t really into either. So I have updated my profile to ‘Dislike’ rings. Hopefully this way, next month’s box will be all ‘Fabulous!’ and no ‘so-so’.

Suzi Earring
Sample value – Wantable valued the earrings at $20

Wantable said – ‘Sometimes a little goes a long way, These cute studs are a staple in every fashionista’s wardrobe.’

I’m quite happy with these. I like classic earrings and I don’t have any square studs. So this one is a winner as well.

How much does it cost?

Wantable costs $36 for a monthly subscription that you can cancel at anytime or $40 for a one off box. Shipping to Australia is $9.

TOTAL COST $45 US (on today’s dollar that makes it $47.87 Aussie dollars)

How long did it take to get to Australia?

This month it only took two weeks to get here from the US. Last month it took a whole month!!

Are these products available in Australia or through Australian suppliers?

These products are sourced for Wantable. You could get similar products at Diva or Lovisa.

Was it worth it?

The silver bracelet is awesome. I feel really stylish and I would never have brought it on my own. I’m not a very good jewellery shopper. I get all worried about ‘what’ will match ‘what I have at home’ and then I get freaked out and walk away with nothing. So this is a great way for me to get jewellery that is on trend. However on the flip side this month I got three items and one of them I didn’t like. So it wasn’t very cost effective as I really only got two items for just under $50. I’m still pretty happy with the bracelet though so I am still smiling about the purchase 🙂

Wantable review July 2013

Wantable review July 2013

Hooray! After what felt like a really really long time my Wantable Accessories Box for July arrived and I loved it.

Wantable use a style quiz to determine what items to send you each month. The profile is pretty detailed my profile is set to the following:

Love – classic, glam, mix ‘n’ match, earrings
Like – bracelets, necklaces, rings, headbands, scarves, silver tone, gold tone, multi tone, wood, acrylic, beads, leatherette, inspirational text
Dislike – rock ‘n’ roll, boho, urban, watches, sunglasses, skulls

The box was smaller than expected. However when I opened the box it was pretty roomy.

The products

Dilita Earrings
Sample value – Wantable valued these at $18

Wantable said – ‘Sometimes a little goes a long way. These cute studs are a staple in every fashionista’s wardrobe.’

I love these. They are classic and glam. Tick Wantable.

Rosalie Necklace
Sample value – Wantable valued this set at $24

Wantable said -‘Here is one of stylist Lara Eurdolian’s favourites! Wear this statement necklace with a strappy dress for maximum style.’

I would never have purchased this as I would have been too worried about what I would wear with it. However I wore this the very next day with a cute little black dress and some blue heels. It made me feel very stylish and trendy.

Sabina Ring
Sample value – Wantable valued this ring at $24

Wantable said – ‘This stacked glam ring is perfect for day or night! Go ahead, match your polish to the sapphire colored stone!’

This is the one item that I didn’t love. It doesn’t quite fit, which is my fault as I put the ring size as 5. So it is a tad too big. Also style wise it isn’t really me 🙁

Buchannan Earrings
Sample value – Wantable valued these cute Gatsby inspired earrings at $20

Wantable said – ‘Vintage styling is so fashionable right now. These earrings could be straight off the set of Gatsby. Make sure to wear your hair up so everyone can see your fantastic new studs!’

Again I would never buy these as I’d be too scared about whether I could pull them off but they are really fabulous on. Totally glam and on trend with the Gatsby look that I keep seeing everywhere. So I will be wearing these too!

How much does it cost?

Wantable costs $36 for a monthly subscription that you can cancel at anytime or $40 for a one off box. Shipping to Australia is $9.

TOTAL COST $45 US (on today’s dollar that makes it $50.43 Aussie dollars)

How long did it take to get to Australia?

It took a whole month to get here but apparently there was some kind of shipping delay with Australia Post. So hopefully next time it gets here quicker.

Are these products available in Australia or through Australian suppliers?

These products are sourced for Wantable. You could get similar products at Diva or Lovisa.

Was it worth it?

When I got the box I was scared to open it, in case I didn’t like the items. But I was really happy with what I got. The blue Rosalie earrings and necklace set I wore the next day to work and then the following day I wore the cute Dilita Earrings.

At Diva a similar set of items would cost :
Dilita earrings $9.95
Rosalie statement necklace $19.95 – $29.95
Rosalie earrings $9.95
Buchannan earrings $12.95
Sabina Ring $9.95
TOTAL $62.75 – $72.75

So the box works out $10 – $20 cheaper than buying products at Diva.

I have a confession though, this works really well for me because I get purchase anxiety when buying accessories. I have a lot of trouble making a decision and can spend ages wandering around the store without buying anything. So to have stuff set to me based on my preferences is really awesome. I’m hoping that next month is just as good for me 🙂

Wantable Accessories Box review September 2012

Wantable Accessories Box review September 2012

My third Wantable Accessories Box arrived a few weeks ago and I have been wearing two of the necklaces non-stop!

There are three different Wantable boxes that you can subscribe to – Accessories, Make-up or Intimates. I’m currently subscribing to the Accessories Box.
Wantable use a style quiz to determine what items to send you each month. My profile is set to the following:

Love – classic, glam, mix ‘n’ match, earrings
Like – bracelets, necklaces, rings, headbands, scarves, silver tone, gold tone, multi tone, wood, acrylic, beads, leatherette, inspirational text
Dislike – rock ‘n’ roll, boho, urban, rings, watches, sunglasses, skulls

This month I updated my box to say no ‘rings’ as the last two ‘rings’ really didn’t float my boat. I can report that this time I got no ‘rings’ – Hooray!!

What was in the box?

The products

Valentina Necklace

Sample value – Wantable valued this necklace at $26

Wantable says – “Chains are so stylish this season. This is one of stylist Laura Eurdolian’s favourite pieces!”

This is my favourite piece in the box!! It is really stylish and I feel super on-trend when I wear it.

Rosalinda Necklace

Sample value – Wantable valued this necklace at $28

Wantable says – “The Rosalinda Necklace features square onyx stones accented with round rhinestones. Style tip: Pair with shiny curls and a vibrant red dress!”

This is my second favourite item in the box. Such a pretty and delicate necklace. I’ve worn this out to dinner and it was a winner.

Reese Bracelet

Sample value – Wantable valued this bracelet at $24

Wantable says – “Neon is one of the hottest trends of the moment and this bracelet is a great way to experiment with it! Pair with matching fluorescent nail polish to make a statement.”

This bracelet is a bit too bright for me. It will probably go in the gift pile.

Costello earrings

Sample value – Wantable valued these earrings at $20

Wantable says – “These stud earrings are simply adorable! You can quote us on that! Style Tip: Wear these studs with a fun top for a whimsy look!”These earrings are cute and I totally agree with Wantable that these would look great with a fun top. Problem is, I don’t really have a ‘fun top’. So I am now on the look out for a ‘fun top’!

How much does it cost?

Wantable costs $36 for a monthly subscription that you can cancel at anytime or $40 for a one off box. Shipping to Australia is $9.

TOTAL COST $45 US (on today’s dollar that makes it $47.87 Aussie dollars)

Was it worth it?

Yes I really enjoyed this month’s Wantable Accessories box. My favourite two pieces were the Valentina necklace and the Rosalinda necklace. The Valentina necklace has made many appearances in my work wardrobe this month! While the Rosalinda necklace made a cute date night piece.
